My Alex & The List Review
I watched Alex & The List a few days ago and wanted to give my thoughts on it so here we go. This cute movie stars Jennifer Morrison as Katherine, Patrick Fugit as Alex and Karen Gillan as Lily.
Basically, Alex thinks he has found the girl of his dreams in Katherine. He plans to propose to her until his best friend Lily convinces Katherine to make a list of "improvements" for Alex. Alex being in love with Katherine and willing to do anything to keep her, decides to do the list. The list includes: get teeth whitened, convert to Judaism as Katherine is Jewish, get circumcised, upgrade wardrobe, learn to love regular sports such as football, and drive a German car. Alex ends up completing the list. He even gave up his dog since Katherine is allergic.
Alex becomes very close with Katherine and her family. What was supposed to be Katherine's brother's wedding ended up being hers well almost. When it came time for Alex to step on the glass, he couldn't do it. He left Katherine at the alter, and went and got his dog back. He ended up finding a new girl at the park. So Katherine was left heartbroken and in tears at the alter.
I felt so bad for Katherine. I wanted to jump through my laptop screen and give her a big hug. She didn't deserve to be left at the alter, heartbroken and humiliated in front of all of her family and friends. I could tell she really loved Alex and I really thought they would end up getting married, I really did. I don't understand how Alex who seemed to be so in love with Katherine, agreed to do the whole list, complete the list and then not marry her. It makes no sense to me to go through all that and circumcision and then not marry the supposed girl of your dreams but that's just me.
Overall, I thought the movie was cute and lighthearted. I wish Katherine had a better ending though as what happened was not really her fault she just did what was suggested to her.
As always, my idol, Jennifer Morrison was amazing and did her character of Katherine so much justice and more. Jen is amazing in everything she does, every character she plays, and more. I can't wait to see more of her projects ones that she is in and ones that she directs as well. She inspires me everyday! Always love and admire you, Jen!
Everyone go check out this movie! It's on itunes, amazon, and in select theaters now!!

I had to go out and cycle so I missed the ending. Thanks for posting. It wasn't a good movie but the characters were compelling. I was rooting for Alex to dump that broad at every step, but she also became more human as the movie played on. Not enough to totally annihilate yourself for someone who doesn't even like the real you or care about what you want. The Russian at least asked that important question, which was meant to contrast the fiancé to be. I'm glad he finally averted disaster, a bit late. You know, when the apartment was clean of dog the fiancé to be seemed a little disappointed there was nothing to criticize. But there soon would be because in burst the Russian. And that is why they did not belong together. Sure he could use some nicer clothes and a cleaner apartment but his dental health was not as important as his appearance by her side. How much more explicit can you be?
