Yesterday in Connecticut there was a horrible tragedy, a shooting again, this time at an Elementary school. 6 and 7 year olds shot dead with a shot gun. In the words of my hero and idol Alyssa Milano "What the fuck is wrong wtih people?" I would love to know why this keeps happening but even more so how do people with mental problems keep getting ahold of these deadly weapons? It's insantity and oh so sad. This is supposed to be the holiday season it's a time of joy, laughter, togetherness, but above all love, but the violence is trying to take the holiday spirit away.
In the midst of every tragedy there is hope and it brings people together all over the nation and even the world. We always overcome everything and we always will with the power love and hope. Alyssa brings that out through twitter her heart is so beautiful and huge and it makes me smile and gives me hope for the future even if things seem bleak right now.
Something else about this tragedy that really gets on my nerves is the media going up to those poor kids who just survive something they never should have gone through in the first actually nobody just have to endure what those kids did but anyway as I was saying the media goes up to those kids and starts interviewing them. I mean are you kidding me? They are traumatized and don't need that right now. You would think they would have some common sense and leave the children alone but no they want to get their story at whatever the cost. It just makes me so mad to see those poor children being interviewed after all they went through. Just leave the children alone. Rant over on that subject.
Every time something like this happens it always reminds me of that day back in April 2007 the worst massacre in US History the VA Tech massacre I was at college and had no clue what had happened until I was driving home and heard it on the radio I was just stunned and worried since I had friends there but they are all ok. I got home and turned on CNN and called my best friend Sarah. It was so scary that this tragedy was happening in my home state of Virginia. Now every time a mass shooting happens I flash back to that April day in 2007.
Now is not the time for debating gun laws and negativity but it's the time to come together as a nation and give love and support to the victims and families of this horrific tragedy but I do believe that something needs to be done and needs to be done soon to stop these tragedies from happening again.
"If you want peace, you won't get it with violence." - John Lennon
My favorite quote by my favorite person! "It's nice to be important, but it's important to always be nice"- Alyssa Milano
This is what we need all over the world today!
That is all for now. Be kind to one another always!
~Peace and Love~
