Well my hometown of Powhatan, VA is defintely not the same since I grew up there. They keep building stuff first it was a new gas station and McDonalds but I didn't mind along with Food Lion allthough that was farther out then where I lived. Then they built another Food Lion closer to where I lived we went there for a while that was ok. But ever since I moved to Florida they have changed it even more. It's not the same country, rural place it used to be. They way I remembered it we used to light off fireworks in the driveway a lot of the neighbors would come over. We would go to this little fireworks shop called Big Bang Fireworks, loved that store. We would get a ton of sparklers and fireworks, I especially loved the firework called Unicorn Fountain, so cool. Anyway my Mom would light the fireworks off in the drive way and the neighbors and I would watch as our firecracker popsicles dripped down our arms. That was fun and sticky. Also we would run around outside with no shoes on all the time. That is country living. I remember watching the lightning bugs light up outside and hearing all the bugs and stuff make their sounds in the summer. It was so quiet in the country and I felt safe out there. We would ride our bikes down the road without a fear or care it was awesome. We would swim until midnight at least in the neighbors pool, that was so fun. Exploring the woods behind my house was fun too well except for the sticker bushes those hurt when we would run into them. Of course my favorite memory is playing baseball in the front yard with my Dad. One time my Dad hit the ball so long and hard it went around the side of the house and all the way down into the woods in the backyard. I was shocked at first then I was kinda mad when he couldn't find the ball in the woods so we ended up getting a new ball only to find the old ball some months later go figure. Anywho those were fun days. I miss them a lot. but the point of this blog isn't much about the memories as it is about the fact that the place I grew up in isn't the same place I remember well it kinda still is but there is a lot of change. They just built this strip mall right off of Route 288 with a Target and a Movie theatre now they want to build a WalMart somewhere when there's a WalMart like 10 mins up the road. Powhatan is supposed to be a rural country place now it's slowly becoming more and more suburban. I liked when I lived there I liked it a lot I just hope it doesn't turn into a mini city or anything. I hope somehow someway country living and quiet living stays a part of Powhatan County, Virginia my home the place I grew up in and went to scholl I'll never forget and I'll always be gratefull for living there. I currently live in Florida but someday someway I'm going to move back home to Virginia but I want to move to Virginia Beach, Virginia because that's my all time Favorite place in the whole world, Powhatan is a close second though. At least when I do move I'll be back home in Virginia where I know I belong.
Well that's it for now.
Oh and I absolutely love and adore Alyssa Milano she is my #1 Hero. <3 :)
